Large Antique Pink and Gold Porcelain Courting Platter with Fragonard Scenes
About the Item
A large antique porcelain courting plate in pink with gold accents. This piece was created by Hutschenreuther and depicts the stages of a courting couple. There are 14 individual scenes that surround the edges by the artist Fragonard. The platter is large and will make a great serving platter at a gathering or a lovely addition hanging on a wall. The center of the piece is painted in a bright pink. A medallion in the middle features the courting couple. She wears a bright pink dress that plays off the pink in the center. Her brown hair is upswept. He wears a red coat, a blue overshirt, and blue slippers. Throughout the piece and around the edges is a raised hand-painted gold design among hand-painted gold floral accents. Use this pretty platter at your next dinner party, or hang it on a wall for guests to admire!
The bottom is stamped with the Hutschenreuther 1838 medallion in green, and below it:
