A fine and impressive antique George V English sterling silver galleried tea tray; an addition to our antique silver teaware collection.
This fine antique George V sterling silver tea tray has a rounded navette shaped form.
The surface of the tray is plain and unembellished.
The flared galleried border is embellished with pierced arch and vertical pale decoration accented with circular motifs to the elevating ends.
The upper rim of the hallmarked galleried border is ornamented with a band of applied reed decoration.
This impressive sterling silver tea tray incorporates a plain oval inset handle to either end, accented with a portion of pierced angular decoration to the nadir.
The underside of this pierced silver gallery tray bears the retailer’s mark ‘D & J. Wellby Ltd, Garrick St, London’.
