About the Item

Possibly the most highly prized pattern by one of England's earliest manufacturers of fine porcelain, Coalport, this "Rock & Tree" pattern cabinet plate is exceptionally hand painted with vibrant "imari" colors and gilded superbly throughout. Other than a very faint "star" hairline to the rear of the plate (and illustrated in several images), this example of Coalport's best is in fabulous age-appropriate condition (and price accordingly due to the very slight "A/F" condition. It displays brilliantly and of museum-quality. (Purchased from a gentleman's lifelong collection in the UK of the best examples of early porcelain.)

Japanese 19th Century Porcelain Imari Plate with Painted Blue and White Décor
Located in Yonkers, NY
A Japanese Imari porcelain plate from the 19th century, with hand-painted blue and white foliage, tree and architecture décor. Created in Japan during the 19th century, this Imari porcelain plate features a delicate blue and white décor divided into four distinct sections: lucious foliage, blooming trees, large leaves and a traditional house with mountains in the background occupy the composition beautifully.
