About the Item
A fine antique English Aesthetic Movement porcelain plate.
Attributed to Bodley.
With a trompe l'oeil decorated Japanese fans (an uchiwa and a sensu) & precious objects to the plate. The uchiwa fan is painted and enameled with roses & a blue jay. The entire plate has rich gilt highlights throughout.
This pattern seems to borrow heavily from Minton's Aesthetic Movement fan pattern plates.
Simply a wonderful cabinet plate!

It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs.
Condition Details:
There is some wear to the enamel painted decoration. Otherwise, there are some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age.

Marked to the base with an English Registry mark for 1878 and a red cypher that reads MP2245.
