Derby porcelain grazing sheep, c. 1760.

About the Item

A rare Derby porcelain figure of a sheep, c. 1760. The finely modelled sheep, grazing amongst a flower strewn base, and painted with liver coloured spots. Unusually, the base is hand painted, in vibrant enamels, with a large butterfly. Three ‘Patch’ marks to the underside of the flat base. Length – 9.3 cm, 3 5/8”. Height – 7.6 cm, 3”. Width – 4.7 cm, 1 7/8”. Condition – Repair to both ears. Otherwise excellent condition.
