About the Item

A rare and exquisite pair of Rococo porcelain vases crafted by the renowned Derby porcelain manufactory in England, circa 1755–1765. These remarkable pieces showcase the playful asymmetry and sculptural elegance of English Rococo design at its finest. Each vase features a dramatic asymmetric silhouette adorned with molded scrolls, acanthus leaves, and stylized swan head spouts. One side is delicately hand-painted in rich puce monochrome, depicting pastoral figural scenes, while the reverse bursts with vibrant polychrome floral bouquets — a joyful celebration of nature typical of Derby’s finest output. Executed in soft-paste porcelain with fine gilt detailing, the vases reflect both technical mastery and decorative flair. The unusual form and painterly contrasts make this pair a true collector’s highlight. Comparable examples are held in the permanent collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.
