Meissen gorgeous cherubs figurines: Allegory of Astronomy The details are stunningly scupltured = finest modelling Manufactory: Meissen Dating: made circa 1870 Hallmarked: Meissen Mark with Pommels on Hilts (19th century) First quality Model number 2460 / former's number 110 / painter's number 41 Material: multicolored porcelain, partially golden painted, glossy finish Technique: handmade porcelain Style: Rococo Modeller: Christoph Carl Punct (model 2460 created circa 1761 - 65). - Punct was modeller, worked since 1761 on behalf of Meissen manufactory / he became Sculptor of Court in 1763 / he was collaborator of Kaendler, too / the sculptor was specialized on two-figured children's groups: We are very grateful to Mr. Bergmann due to these informations. First quality Specifications: Two cherub's figurines are gathering around a celestial globe / one of them - the one who stands - holds a telescope. The second one sits beside the celestial globe, seizing compasses / additionally, a book and a larger telescope have been laid on base. The figurine group is based on oval socle decorated with Rocaille ornaments. - The details are stunningly worked: Look for example at the cherubs' lovely features and note further, please, the nice as well as delicate figurines' impression deriving from highest quality of modelling!
