Meissen Pair of Cachepots Planters Flower Blossoms Rococo Period c. 1750

About the Item

Meissen gorgeous pair of cachepots / planters stunningly decorated with flower blossoms, made in Rococo Period / circa 1750. The white porcelain surface is ornamented with finest bundle of scattered flowers, depicting for example: rose flowers' blossoms, dahlias, tulips, poppies, asters, aquilege etc. - The paintings are of highest quality / they are strongly influenced by the flower paintings which had once been invented by the famous Meissen painter Johann Gregorius Höroldt (1696 - 1775), having been called 'DEUTSCHE BLUME' ( = THE GERMAN FLOWER, this pattern is of most lifelike impression and was often used in Meissen manufactory during period starting around the year 1740 until end of 1770's ). The FINEST DECORATION as described above is of GORGEOUS APPEARANCE, indeed ! Additionally, each of the cachepots is decorated with a pair of sculptured mascarons attached to surface: A mascaron ornament is a face, usually human ( in architecture, faces were sometimes chimeric in order to frighten away evil spirits so that they would not enter the building. The concept was subsequently adapted to become a purely decorative element . [WIKIPEDIA] ) The scalloped upper edges are framed with golden painting.
