About the Item

We invite you here to look at a splendid as well as rare Meissen tea set: White porcelain, multicolored pattern consisting of flowers' blossoms and figurines (decor sommernachtstraum in German = summer night's dream / decor number 680691). Golden painted edges, multi-colored & under glazed as well as onglazed decorations existing, partially covered with gold and platinum. The figural subjects are deriving from Shakespeare's "Summer Night's Dream" or in earlier English "A Midsommer Night's Dreame", circa 1970-1980 Design: Decoration: Professor Heinz Werner / born in year 1928 in Coswig, Germany Heinz Werner is active as painter, graphic artist and designer of porcelain pieces, having settled in Coswig and Meissen. He had joined Meissen Manufactory in year 1957 as designer of patterns / Prof. Heinz Werner is the best known as well as most important Meissen artist having been active during second half of 20th century, he founded together with Ludwig Zepner and Peter Strang the company of Meissen artists. Heinz Werner created on behalf of Meissen manufactory not only various modern decorations such as tales of the thousand and one nights, blue orchid on branch, bird-of-paradise flowers or the summer night dream presented here, but also excellently sculptured single items. Form type: created by Ludwig Zepner (form number 23582) Meissen tea set: Tea cup with saucer & dessert plate There is at reverse side of tea set Meissen sword mark (under glazed) of second half of the 20th century (circa 1970-1980) and decor number existing. Painter's numbers as well as former's numbers visible. Year's sign (1973) existing. First quality.
