Meissen rarest Art Nouveau item: The wave Size: Height 3.34 inches Depth 6.10 inches Width 8.26 inches Manufactory: Meissen Hallmarked: Blue Meissen sword mark (glazed bottom) model number Q 169 / former's number 182/126 First quality Dating: Turn of century, made circa 1900 Material: Porcelain, glossy finish, multicolored painted Technique: Handmade porcelain Style: Art Nouveau  Modelled by: Julius Konrad Hentschel (1872-1907) the sculptor studied at academy of arts at Munich and Dresden; since the year 1889 he has been active in meissen manufactory as designer and modeller. - Model Q 169 was designed in year 1898. Specifications: It is a bowl - shaped as undulating wave, from which a long-haired mermaid is arising (her unclad upper body is visible). The modelling is of finest quality, the details are stunningly worked: please look at the sea foam / ocean foam visible at edge of bowl or at the lovely features of mermaid!
