About the Item

Excellent pieces from the Meissen manufactory from the 19th century: Two cups and saucers with cobalt blue background and large reserves with the finest overglaze painting, as well as elaborate gold decoration. Cups with curved downward-sloping walls on a standing ring, gold-raised handles in the form of two intertwined branches with relief leaves at the connections, large four-pass rocaille reserve on the outside opposite with polychrome painted motif – romantic scenes with various gallant couples in forest clearings, surrounded by lush, delicate gold decoration, inside of cup with fine gold border at the top and acanthus leaf rosette at the bottom. Saucers with cobalt blue background and large central quatrefoil reserve, each with another gallant scene, surrounded by rich gold painting and gold edges.
