About the Item

ANTIQUE GLAZED POTTERY BOWL A highly decorative bowl with a folky, rustic feel, reddish-brown fired clay decorated with a slipware glaze of a creamy, pale yellow-green ground, featuring sponged decoration in a more vibrant pea-green and brown. The underside is partially glazed in a wonderfully decorative green glaze. Originating from the Swat valley in what is now modern-day Pakistan. Overall, the bowl is in good vintage condition with wear throughout commensurate with age and use, including some chips to the glaze; some of these may have been original missing areas from manufacture. Approximate measurements: 27cm diameter x 9cm high.
