About the Item

A Trompe l’Oeil Paté en Croûte Tureen attributed to Pillivuyt Mehun, France, circa 1900 Pâté en croûte is a French charcuterie delicacy featuring a savory mix of meats encased in a beautiful golden, flaky pastry crust. This dish is often decorated with intricate designs on the top crust – a popular choice for appetizers or festive occasions in France. The ceramic faux paté en croûte covered baker is modeled to imitate the baked crusted pie pastry. Hand made and very realistic in its color and form. The interior is glazed in a high gloss white. Suitable for the oven, a small vent hole in the lid allows for the steam to escape during cooking and cooling. 4.25 inches round x 3 inches high. The expected light wear, good clean interior.
