Antique English silver Victorian gothic style vase, Birmingham 1890

About the Item

This most eyecatching solid silver vase stands on a moulded and domed raised foot. The tall slender body slowly flares to a plain out swept rim. The lower body is decorated with a gothic influenced pattern with twisted alternate tapering flutes and reeds and the upper section has a gothic styled dragooned boarder which is beautifully hand chased into the silver. This delightful vase is in very good original condition and fully hallmarked with the Birmingham anchor with letter p for 1890 along with the lion for assayed English silver and a slightly indistinct makers mark. Height 13cm x width 8.5cm x depth 8.5cm
