Drageoir or Candy Dish in Silver

About the Item

Drageoir or candy dish in silver and crystal cut called "diamond tip" slightly flared. The collar is openwork and presents a decoration of palmette. The body of the drageoir is decorated with dolphin motifs backed by a palmette motif surmounted by a shell. Two handles decorated with foliage ending in a nest and birds. The lid is of a round swan forming the finial. The drageoir rests on a pedestal and a quadrangular base ending in four ball feet. Silver marks: And for foreign work. (Germany) Fleur-de-lys crowned. H: 11.02in. (28 cm) / W: 6.67in. (19.5 cm) Weight: 550g (without glass) Can form a pair with a similar drageoir. Early 19th century.
