Fine William IV Sterling Silver Vinaigrette by Joseph Willmore, Birmingham, 1835

The lid and underside showing a fine engine-turned surface, the hinged lid decorated with a foliate cast border opening to a richly gilded interior housing an exceptionally fine hand-pierced & foliate engraved hinged grille. The interior bearing impressed Birmingham hallmark, date mark for 1835 & makers marks for Joseph Willmore. Dimensions: 3/8" h x 1.25” w x .75” d. Weight, 11 grams. (Joseph Willmore is regarded as a one of the finest 'small-works' silversmiths of the 19th century, and known primarily as a vinaigrette specialist).
