Silver Set Three Bowls Cobalt Blue Glass Liners Master Bubeniczek Vienna ca.1900
About the Item
Silver set of three oblong bowls / centrepieces with original cobalt blue glass liners.
Art Nouveau / made circa 1900-1905
Stunningly manufactured set of three silver bowls: One of large dimension, the other two of smaller size / they have reticulated walls which consist of vertical bands. Additionally, there are pendants of laurel leaves attached
to lockets existing - all of them hung up at outer walls. Additionally, there are movable rings of laurel leaves attached to bowls, having function of handholds. Finally, the bowls are based on oblong raised feet having edges decorated with pendants of laurel leaves, too. A very special feature are the original cobalt blue glass liners with smooth surface, perfectly matching the silver receptacles.
Made circa 1900-1905

SILVER 800 (= branded by AUSTRIAN / VIENNESE so-said DIANA's HEAD MARK 1872 - 1922)

A magnificent, fine and impressive, large pair of antique George V English sterling silver bowls / centrepieces in the Art Nouveau style, an addition to our presentation silverware collection.
These magnificent and large antique George V English sterling silver bowls/centrepieces have a compressed circular form onto a knopped pedestal and domed circular foot.
The plain body of each piece is encircled with an impressive band of applied and chased olive leaf festoon decoration consisting of overlapping leaf designs with a bead motif to subdivision.
Both sides of each piece is further ornamented with exceptional and large applied vacant cartouche bordered with a ribbon tied oak and olive branch, in addition to a scrolling and leaf motif to the upper portion.
The upper portions of these concaved cartouches are subtly elevated and joined to the moulded decoration to the shaped rim.
These antique silver bowls are fitted with impressive and large Art Nouveau style scrolling handles with plain plateaued upper portions and subtle thumbpieces.
The knop to the pedestal is encircled with an impressive chased band of oak leaf and acorn decoration accented with a tied ribbon design.
