About the Item
Important sterling silver tea and coffee service.
The service was entirely handmade in the Baroque style.
The body of the coffee pot, teapot, milk jug and sugar bowl is round and have been embossed with a shell design, typical of the Baroque style. Later it was enriched with volute engraving interspersed with knurled segments, to highlight the handwork. The flower knobs and feet are cast and subsequently chiseled.
The sugar bowl and the milk jug have been embellished with an internal gilding
The oval tray, by the same silversmith, was deliberately made of 800 silver to make it more resistant and not very flexible when the tea and coffee service, positioned above, is moved from one room to another.
The handles and the edge of the tray are cast and inside the tray itself, just below the border, a hand-engraved frame has been created following the design of the tea-coffee service.
