About
What makes Nantgarw porcelain special?
In the years 1813-1822, some of the most beautiful porcelain in the world was produced at the Nantgarw China Works. Founded in Wales by William Billingsley, who was one of the most remarkable porcelain painters and manufacturers of his time. We are offering a rare Nantgarw China Works porcelain breakfast cup and saucer made 1813-1822. The outside of the cup and the inside of the saucer were decorated with garlands of pink roses. The gilding is delicate and beautiful. The cup has the characteristic Nantgarw handle. The cup has two original firing cracks (see images). Both the cup and the saucer are marked underneath with the Nantgarw mark in iron red (see images).
