About the Item
This elegant set of eight hand-cut antique English cut glass wine rinsers dates to the mid-19th century, circa 1860.
Each rinser is cut with exceptional precision and uniformity, reflecting the high standards of Victorian-era glassmaking.
The form is traditional, with a wide flared mouth and twin pouring lips designed to rinse or chill wine glasses between courses.
The bodies are encircled by deeply faceted starburst and fan motifs, and the rims are finished with a band of classic thumb cuts. (see images)
The star-cut bases radiate light brilliantly, adding visual interest to each piece.
Crafted from clear, high-quality glass, these rinsers are both functional and decorative.
Their remarkable uniformity makes them especially rare as a matched set—ideal for formal dining settings as wine rinsers or filled with flowers.
