About the Item
A very stylish studio pottery raku vase applied with copper metallic glazes, signed and dating from the 20th century. The vase of rounded conical bottle shape stands on a wide rounded flat base the body narrowing to a short funnel shaped top. The vase is decorated in matted grey raku glazes and applied in low relief with metallic and white patterned glazes with craquel turquoise glazes around the top and running into the body. The vase has a very distinctive impressed makers mark to the body.
Provenance: from an extensive British private collection of studio pottery.
