About the Item

Pair of early 20th century English estate made folk art decoy pigeons Obtained from an Estate sale in Cornwall earlier this month, hand carved pine working pair of folk-art pigeon decoys are of wonderful naïve form. Both with inset glass eyes, pole support holes at the base, one is engraved NR beneath. Naturally flaked and aged paint with a deep patination across both examples. Size in inches approx.: H 5” x W 4” x D 14” Origin: English Date: 1920 Material: Wood Aged look with wear and tear due to use over many years, over 100 years old with aged repairs as shown to the grey one beak area, with missing detail as you may expect with paint flaking (firmly in place and now loose), This pair are untouched in form. These items are working examples and the wear is natural.
