About the Item
Very finely carved face mask, probably from the Northwest Coast of the US or Canada. Created mid 20th century or earlier, the artist is unfortunately unknown. Carved light wood, probably cedar, by a skilled artist, the mask is carved out to be approximately 1/4 - 3/8 inches thick in most places, quite lightweight. No signature is apparent. Very sensitive carving with expressive lips.
From an old estate in the Seattle Washington area. Ready to hang on the wall.
