1930s Glass Plate Pendant from the Czech-Bauhaus Movement

About the Item

This beautiful glass plate pendant is composed of a frosted glass plate, a light cluster, and an element to suspend it. A minimalistic, form and function design. The glass plate is in good condition with a small chip on the upper side. Perhaps You are wondering about the title, Czech-Bauhaus Movement. The movement is the continuation of ideas that were originally developed or formed in the early 1900s by a group of Prague based artist-designers, better known under the collective name Artel. Artel is best known for cubistic ceramics and toys. In the 1920s. Artel reached there peak in what is called the golden age of Czech design. Artel was the first modern movement undertaken and supported by Czech Artist. Their influence reached a new generation of Czech designers in the 1930s which is better known as the Czech -Bahaus movement.
