About the Item
This beautiful elegant chandelier was made in Southern France and dates approximately 1850. The chandelier has a dark patinated bronze frame and is hung with the highest quality clear and smokey crystal cut ornaments. The crystal ornaments are thick and large and they were beautifully cut with sharp edges. The combination of the clear crystal, smokey crystal, and blacked bronze frame is very much sought after. All crystal ornaments are attached to the frame with dark steel wire with a bow-tied ribbon at the end. The piece is equipped with 8 candles with flower-shaped bobeches underneath. The electrical lighting is of recent date and was added in a very smart and elegant manner. The low inner center of the frame, where all arms come together, features a clear crystal-cut pinnacle. Within the pinnacle, a small bulb lights the piece from within. All other bulbs are placed so they light the chandelier from within. All bulbs have a classic bayonet fitting and bronze fixture. All wiring has a textile sleeve but and is of recent date. The chandelier was gently cleaned and carefully measured and checked and it is in perfect condition ready for use. (both for EU as the US).
