About the Item

Vintage Art Deco ice blue globe on new Nickel plated fixture. Very nice deco designs in relief of flowers on each of the sides of the globe. The pattern is totally asymmetrical with even a very small flower in the upper left of each panel. The dynamic tension in the design between the flowing fauna the ridged stepped borders of each panel against the wavy ridged background is pure 1930s. View the close up image. The blue color is somewhat muted, not a strong blue as seen in other examples of ice blue glass. However the pattern and shape of the globe is indeed rare as I do not recall seeing it before in the past 25 years. There is something about the globe that makes me think this is a European piece, possibly Dutch. There is a slight iridescent sheen to the glass and it does slightly glow under a black light. Rewired to UL standards including code required ground wire. The height of the globe only is 11 1/2 inches. The width of the globe is 9 1/2 inches. The overall drop from ceiling to bottom of the glass is 22 1/4 inches. Drop can be adjusted, usually at no additional charge. Nickel plated chain is also an option instead of the tube

Two available, priced each. Having this hanging in any room is really nothing short of spectacular! Although nothing in the image really gives it a good sense of scale, these looks pretty large in life. Nice size for an open kitchen, dining room, or for a statement entryway fixture. The blue color is pretty accurate in the images with the light bulb off. Once lit the shade shows a milky blue color. 12 inch round blue globe...
