An Extremely Rare Pair of Paavo Tynell Pendants m. 3353 for Taito 1950s
About the Item
An extremely rare and huge in size, pair of ceiling pendants designed by Paavo Tynell and manufactured by Taito in Finland in the 1950s. Nicely patinated brass combined with opal glass can never go wrong.
Paavo Tynell (1890–1973) was a Finnish designer who is well renowned around the world for his incredible lighting fixtures and lamps. Tynell is known as the man who “illuminated Finland” and his works can be found in numerous public offices and buildings such as the Finnish Parliament House and the office of Secretary-General of the United Nations in New York. Tynells ability to breathe life into his work has been almost unparalleled to this day.
Both lamps are stamped Taito, and are in their full original condition, except for the wiring which has been changed. This pair came from a pharmacy in the middle regions of Finland.
