Franco Albini, Franc Helg and Antonio Piva for Sirrah, pendant lamp, chrome-plated metal, nickel-plated brass, Italy, 1969
This well-constructed pendant lamp is part of a series named ‘AM/AS’ that included a table, wall-, ceiling- and suspension lamps, and were designed by an influential Italian trio Franco Albini, Franc Helg and Antonio Piva for Sirrah in 1969. This particular item has a spherical shaped diffuser executed in chromed metal that beautifully reflects the surroundings. The interior is finished with off-white matt lacquer, resulting in a soft light partition with a nice warm and diffuse light as outcome. The lampshade can be easily moved due to the articulated arm that shows a strong expression of clear lines.
