Italian 18th Century Louis XIV Period Mecca and Gilt Metal Chandelier
About the Item
A unique and extremely decorative Italian 18th century Louis XIV period mecca and gilt metal chandelier. The fifteen arm chandelier is centered by a fine carved pear shaped bottom finial also repeated at each of the wonderfully scrolled arms. The arms are spread over three tiers and are each decorated with lovely foliate designs and elegant richly carved reeded mecca candle cups. The baluster shaped central fut displays a superb array of foliate carvings with fine mottled movements. All original mecca and gilt throughout.
