Stunning hand painted floor lamp from the 1960s by Danish artist Rigmor Nielsen at Søholm ceramics workshop, Bornholm. The abstract pattern in shades of blue and yellow on this lamp is simply amazing and is only found on this unique example. Each of these rare conical Søholm lamps were made by hand and are unique in their decorations. The painted base holds a brass stem with an elegant handmade flax linen shade at the top. The shade was made especially for this lamp and is a perfect match. Signed R.N. by the artist at the base. Great condition.

Løvemose was a pottery in the town of Kædeby on the island of Langeland in central Denmark, run by husband and wife team Marie Hansen (d. 2008) and Johannes Hansen (d. 2003). It started in 1942 and ran until the mid 1980’s. It was of a reasonable size with up to 15 staff working there at its peak.
