Rare & Stylish Dutch Arts & Crafts Hand Crafted Oak Floor Lamp Shade Base, 1910s
About the Item
Early 20th century Dutch Arts & Crafts floor lamp, the perfect base for and antique shade.
Here is another unique and highly attractive antique from the Dutch Arts & Crafts (Amsterdamse School) era. If you are a collector than you will know how few really good floor lamps of the Arts & Crafts era are available in the world today. Not in the least, because not many people in those days could afford this kind of quality craftsmanship. This slim and stylish work of lighting art is made of solid oak, combined with hand carved, blackened elements. Have you also noticed its fine cubist feet? The wonderful design combined with these hand carved elements and the warm patina give this floor lamp its undeniably classy and stylish appearance. This piece is very likely by one of Holland's better designers and makers. However, much of what was (custom) made in the early 1900s was never documented. Placed behind one or two reading chairs this light will be an absolute joy to own, use and look at. This lamp will be rewired to the highest standard for safe and immediate usage in the USA as well and when purchased by an American client we will also attach an American power plug.
Our price for this unique and stylish antique lamp even includes perfect packing and also worldwide shipping from our store to your door in just 4 to 6 days.
Maximum height (including the socket) x width x depth base: 63.5 x 13 x 13 inches.
The shade in one of the pictures is not included.
We have a passion for the unique, for quality, for stylish yet practical and for craftsmanship of years gone by. Your purchases will be extremely well packaged and we look forward to serving you (again).

Artistic Arts and Crafts Wrought Iron Standard Floor Lamp, signed L. Van Boeckel
By Louis Van Boeckel
Located in Lisse, NL
Rare Louis Van Boeckel wrought iron floor lamp or Oil Lamp.
This magnificently handcrafted Art Nouveau lamp was originally made as an oil lamp. At some point in time oil lamps went out of fashion and that is when this oil lamp was transformed into an electrical lamp. On top you can still see the rimb on which the oil reservoir would have rested.
Obviously what makes this work of art so beautiful is the design and the incredible details and the natural shape of the leaves, the flowers etc. This is the work of a true artist and you will enjoy it every time you see and use it. Comes with embossed stamp ‘LVANBOECKEL’.
Mind you, our fair price even includes perfect packing and also worldwide delivery from our store to your door within 4 days.
Height: 66 inches .
Louis Van Boeckel (1857-1944) of Lier, Belgium, was one of the most important ornamental blacksmiths of his time. He was an apprentice to the Verwilt factory in Lier, but developed most of his skills as an artisan by himself. His work, including some of his important animal depictions, can be found in the Timmermanns-Opsomer-Haus Museum in Lier.
Van Boeckel’s numerous awards included the gold medal at the Exposition du Cercle Rubens (1890), le Prix de l’Art appliqué à la rue, Brussels (1893) and the Grande Médaille d’Or and title of Chevalier de l’ordre Royal du Cambodge at the Exposition Universelle in Paris (1900). He is also responsible for work on the grid of the city hall of Lier after 1890, the grave decorations for Czar Alexander III in St. Petersburg and Queen Marie-Henriette in Laeken, the staircases of honor of the Khedive Palace in Cairo and Benedictine monastery on Mount Olive...
