About the Item
This American flush-mounted glass paneled hall lantern is a rare survival from the Art Deco period. From the detailed hexagonal bronze two-tier frame hang the molded frosted glass panels, each supported by two rosette-form nuts. The colored edging lines bring the design into a more prominent relief. The whole is supported from below by a cone shaped-bronze finial. This unusual lantern evokes in miniature the design of that American icon, the Chrysler Building though it is smaller, and the other way up.
