About the Item
An elegant pair of ceiling lamps model 80115, designed by Gunnel Nyman and manufactured by Idman in Finland in the 1950s. This very minimal design fits easily into any interior. As with a lot of Scandinavian design the beauty of these lamps stems from the simplicity. Nothing extra, only what is necessary, and once again, less is more. In addition the condition is flawless and both pieces have Idman stamps at the base.
Back when these lamps were still commercially sold, they were interchangeable with each other, thats why these lamps have the base of that suits models from 80112 to model 80125.
Gunnel Nyman (1909 – 1948) was a Finnish glass, furniture and metal artist, and one of the founders of modern Finnish glass design. She was also one of the biggest names in th Finnish modern design movement of the early 20th century. Unfortunately, due to her premature death at 39, and eventhough she managed to design numerous beautiful objects, she also left us with a sense of owe and wonder to what she could've designed with a longer career.
