Mid-19th Century French Louis XV Rococo Carved Giltwood Three-Light Lantern

About the Item

Bring Classic, French elegance into your home with this large rococo hand carved hall lantern. Crafted in France, circa 1860, this traditional hexagonal light fixture is a true showstopper. The wooden lantern with dome top and scroll decor, has beautiful carvings including acanthus leaf motifs, and features three lights decorated with decorative candle sleeves, and centered around a brass stem. The bottom is embellished with an ornate cone shaped finial. The ceiling fixture is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich patinated gold leaf finish. The tall Louis XV style giltwood lantern would make a nice addition to an entryway, hallway or landing. Included: A canopy, loop, and chain; each color-matched to the fixture. Measures: 17" diameter x 35" height.
