About the Item

A pair of English giltwood sconces from the 19th century, with three lights and carved eagle motifs. Created in England during the 19th century, each of this pair of giltwood sconces captures our attention with its ribbon-tied eagle standing on a petite bracket and holding two linked tassels in its beak. Three scrolling arms below, springing from foliage, support the bobèches and their candle sleeves. They are flanked with delicate scrolls with rosettes. Completed by larger tassels in the lower section, the sconces have been rewired for the US. With their golden tones and skillfully carved décor, this pair of 19th century English sconces will brighten up any space, perhaps hung above a console table or credenza!
