About the Item

An impressive and large scale pair of Italian 18th century Baroque st. giltwood bras de lumière sconces. Each sconce is centered by an elegant oblong backplate with a mottled wrap around border and fine acanthus leaves. The beautifully scrolled arm branches out adorned with large richly carved acanthus leaves leading to fluted designs below a lovely wrap around beaded band, a mottled reeded support, and candle cup. All original gilt throughout.
