Pair of Large Vintage French Louis XV Style Sconces attributed to Maison Baguès

About the Item

This glamorous pair of Louis XV-style sconces is attributed to Maison Baguès. Designed with a tole skeleton base and a mirrored back panel adorned with crystals forming a blossoming fruit tree. The bottom of the sconces consists of a black half basket encrusted with round crystal beads that glisten from the light inside. Each sconce has three gilt bronze arms having acanthus leaf details that lead to beautiful opaline candelabra faux candles. Each: H=23 in. W=18 in. D=12 in. 6 lbs. Total 12 lbs.

Rewired: Each sconce takes 4 candelabra, incandescent, or LED lights. Each: H=23 in. W=18 in. D=12 in. 6 lbs. Total 12 lbs. Fragile due to glass & crystal, for safety, pack, and ship in 2 separate boxes of 24 by 16 by 16, approx. 10 lbs. each box. Wear consistent with age and use. All parts are original. The bronze parts are mold-made and have slight differences. The bottom half of the mirror has slight oxidation over time. No crystals are missing. They and the opaline candle sleeves are intact.
