About the Item

Vico Magistretti "Omega" Wall Light for Artemide, glass and iron, Italy, 1962. The Alpha and the Omega, a linear start with a flashing warm expression of light, captures the essence of Vico Magistretti's innovative design approach. The "Omega" lamp, created in 1962, showcases a distinctive diffuser made of frosted opaline glass, featuring the middle section of a sphere surrounding an inner opaline globe. This design creates a soft yet striking illumination, becoming a key element of mid-century modern lighting. Initially used in the "Pentaclinio" chandelier, designed for Artemide in 1967, and later in the "Clinio" wall lamp, the diffuser's unique form contributed to its wide application across multiple designs. The vertical wall-mounted version of the Omega lamp presents a steel mount with a perpendicular bar that supports the lamp's structure. The bar is adjustable in height, allowing the fixture to be customized for different environments. Omega's modular design and use of high-quality materials made it a significant piece in Artemide's early years, defining the brand's design language. The lamp's diffuser is held by a brass cross structure, which connects to a rigid rod. Four brass clips secure the diffuser to the structure, maintaining the lamp's sleek, functional appearance. Our in-house atelier in Italy carefully double-checks each piece. Please contact us for additional information.
