1940s Cut Crystal Thumbprint Brass Mounted Table Lamp
About the Item
Statement Lighting: The cut, the clarity and the crystal of this 1940s table lamp, which refracts natural light and light from the bulbs is stunning. The slight tapering conical body has two scrolled handles and thumb print decoration overall, that rests on a domed foot, surmounted by a brass harp and mount, on a circular brass with reticulated edge, on short paw feet.
This 1940s mid century lamp is monumental with its cut glass ears and brass mounted base. This is a rare piece and a natural choice if you appreciate elegant statement lighting. There is some minor tarnishing at the base. The finish of the brass base shows signs of age, but it could be brought back to mid century "glory" with a bit of conservancy for those who are drawn to a newer brass finish.
But the true star of this light show is the thumb print design. It is beautiful with its deep impression and on a large scale.
