About the Item
Art Nouveau masterpiece: Wild & Wessel Kosmos oil Lamp with working burner.
Step into the elegance of the early 20th century with this rare and beautifully detailed W&W Kosmos oil lamp, crafted around 1900. A striking piece of Art Nouveau craftsmanship, this lamp features rich floral motifs, a warm aged patina, and intricate ornamental detailing in golden-toned metal.
The sculptural base is adorned with deep, three-dimensional flower carvings, rising gracefully into an openwork center where a delicate flower, sunflower and leaf motif nestle between the legs. The oil reservoir and burner are embossed with organic, flowing patterns, crowned with the original glass chimney. The burner is marked “W&W Kosmos Brenner” – a hallmark of precision and quality by Wild & Wessel, one of Germany’s finest oil lamp makers of the period.
