French late 19th century Napoleon III Period Marble and Ormolu lamp

About the Item

A striking and most unique French late 19th century Napoleon III Period Louis XVI st. Jaune de Valence, Vert de Patricia marble and Ormolu lamp. This stunning lamp is raised on a circular Vert de Patricia marble base below a circular Ormolu socle supporting a foliate finial and the central reeded shaft. Three elegantly curved supports lead upwards to finely chased Ormolu rooster masks linked together with hanging floral garlands to frame the handsome two-toned urn in Vert de Patricia and Jaune de Valence marbles. The urn is topped with an gilt Bronze dome and fluted finial leading to the bulb cluster.
