Fine pair of late 17th century, Italian, carved & gilded pricket candlesticks upcycled into table lamps, 29” high Finely carved with classical turnings and ornamentation of the Baroque period, the gilding burnished to enhance the reflection of candlelight Inject classical gravitas and period atmosphere into the interior Exceptionally rare to retain the original period metal prickets Original burnished gilt & silver-gilding which can be refreshed if desired Original yellow ochre on the back Sturdy, usable condition. Provenance : Private collection. Measures: Height to top of candlestick : 61cm., 24 inches Height to top of light fitting, 73cm., 29 inches Length from foot-to-foot 19cm., 7 ½ inches.
