Pair of Meissen Figures Mounted as Rococo Ormolu Candelabras

About the Item

A pair of original Meissen figures circa 1765 modeled by J.J. Kändler. Depicting a young couple holding baskets with bright pastel glazes. Later mounted on cast in rococo style French marble and ormolu bases with acanthus leaf branches with three-arm lights, which have now been wired for electricity. Bases stamped "Millet", for Maison Millet, known for their furniture and fine bronzework, in operation in Paris from 1853 to 1902 18th & 19th Century Porcelain, Marble & Ormolu  Overall 25" H x 15" W x 9" D
