Space Age Pair of Table Lamps by Philippe Rogier for Oxar, France, 1970s
About the Item
This rare pair of table lamps was designed by Philippe Rogier for Oxar in France during the 1970s, and is one of the most fascinating examples of European Space Age design.
Each lamp features a clean, minimalist metal cubic structure, with a reflective metal spiral at its centre, secured by a mirror bulb. This single sculptural element, despite its simplicity, manages to create a surprising optical effect, projecting dynamic patterns of light and shadow onto the surrounding surface.
The combination of rigorous geometry and luminous creativity makes these lamps true functional works of art. Ideal as bedside lamps, desk lamps or mood lamps, perfect for modern, brutalist or retro-futuristic interiors.
The lamps are in excellent vintage condition, with a pleasant patina of age, and are supplied with the original mirror bulbs to maintain the original visual effect.
