True Pair of French Turn of the Century Louis XV St. Porcelain Candelabra Lamps
About the Item
A striking and extremely decorative true pair of French turn of the century Louis XV st. ormolu and Saxe porcelain candelabra lamps. Each four arm lamp is raised by a beautiful pierced ormolu base with wonderful scrolled foliate designs and lovely curved feet. At the center are charming wonderfully executed personages of a beautiful maiden at the left lamp and a handsome bearded man at the right lamp each dressed in colorful flowing period attire. The remarkable scrolled foliate ormolu cage is decorated with exquisite hand painted Saxe porcelain blooming flowers in a superb array of vibrant colors leading to two arms at each side with lovely floral bobeches and candle cups. Above is the striking pierced top crown with additional most decorative scrolled foliate designs, lovely Saxe porcelain blooming flowers, and a fine top finial. All original gilt throughout.
