About the Item
A large and impressive mirror with a carved cornice with leafy bands and rosettes underneath. The wide top frieze with a band of palmettes framed by scrolled brackets. The surround on the top and sides with pendant fruit clusters and an inner surround of tiny bell flowers. The bottom with a band of flat squares and scrolls with palmettes in relief below. The mirror glass itself is in two sections, the lower section having been replaced at some past time. The editing of the lead photo has erased the line between the two mirror elements, please see the attendant photos for the true appearance showing the separation as well as tone difference between the upper and lower elements.
Dimensions:: Height 83", width 51", depth 6"
Condition: Age Borne spots and sporadic losses on the gilt and some gilt loss overall, losses to mirror silver in spots at the top and along the middle seam (Please see photos), mentioned for accuracy as the Mirror presents exceptionally well.
