Antique French Louis XVI Gilded Trumeau with Cameo

About the Item

Antique French Louis XVI gilded trumeau with cameo is a remarkable work of art that serves the dual purpose of reflecting ambient light! An understated elegance is defined by the classical architecture of the piece, trimmed all around with spiral ribbon molding. The panel above features a faux-ivory plaster cameo of cherubs at play, set in an oval frame with crests and flourishes, and flanked by gorgeous floral swags in full relief. The generously sized beveled mirror below boasts its original silvering, rare in this type of artifact, and today it still provides a lovely reflection of the rest of your room. Circa 1920s Measures 71.5 H x 38.5 W x 2 D.
