About the Item
An elegant French 19th century Louis XV st. Giltwood Trumeau mirror. This stunning mirror is decorated with Giltwood borders and two shelves at each side amidst scrolled pierced Giltwood reserves at the top and bottom. Elongated rectangular patinated mirror plates are placed throughout, with a central smaller scrolled mirror at the bottom bordered by a scrolled foliate frame. The scrolled frame displays a wonderful acanthus leaf top crown below the charming still life Oil on Canvas painting framed within a similar scrolled frame to the bottom mirror. Above a large scale Giltwood palmette flanked by swaging garlands is the straight mottled top crown. All original gilt and mirror plate throughout.
