About the Item
A fanciful Italian 19th century Baroque st. polychrome and gilt rectangular mirror. The mirror frame has a wonderfully decorative pierced convex design in a chocolate brown polychrome finish of a scrolled pattern amidst gilt burnished grape clusters. At the four corners are bold and richly carved giltwood acanthus leaves while at the center are large floral rosettes. The inner frame has a beaded gilt band surrounding the original mirror plate. This mirror can be placed vertically or horizontally.
