About the Item
The Byron is a theatrical piece, as shown in our specialty honey stained maple finish with carefully hand painted ebonized detailing creating a graphic symmetry. It is shown with a Cornice Valence, a complex detailed Canopy, signature to this style. The Byron is also available in solid stain options, alternate pricing below. Posts heights can be customized to fit your ceiling height. Finial options are shown in our detail images, note that various finials change the overall post and canopy height. This bed is available in multiple wood types, sizes and finishes, also note our other half cornice valence option and four poster option.
Those who are drawn to the Cornice Valence may add it to other bed styles for an upcharge.

Scott James Furniture and Design
Scott James Furniture & Design specializes in hand-made furniture covering a range of styles and fabrication techniques. We are most known for our four poster beds using traditional mortise and tenon joinery available in a range of styles from Contemporary to Traditional. We also work in case and accent pieces, side tables and dining tables, utilizing complex joinery, veneers and even caning and intricate carving. We work out of our Tiverton Rhode Island workshop with a group of expert craftsman. We primarily work in domestic hardwoods such as walnut and oak but also specialist in mahogany and other more unique species. We primarily work with Architects and Interior Designers and are open to custom fabrication and projects. Founded in 1984, we have a long history of making modern American heirlooms, with an attention to detail, craft and quality.
